Finally back to blogging!

I completely abandoned this blog a few months ago, and much to my surprise, there are people who actually read this and were asking me when I was going to get back on board.  So, I thought I'd give a brief summary of our summer and try my best to pick up where I left off.

The biggest thing that has changed for us is that I am now back to work full time and the kids are at school/day care full time. My job is going well, and I am really learning a lot.  I enjoy working with patients again and I am involved in a few research studies which is a great opportunity and a brand new experience for me.   The kids have both fully adjusted to their school and they are loving it.  Maeve is currently a 'turtle' but will move up to the 'dolphin' room when she turns three.  She is very excited about this, and is looking forward to reuniting with some of her friends that have already moved up.  Finn transitioned really well to the one year old room and is napping well on a cot.  Yes, I said a COT--I can't believe it!  His teachers absolutely adore him and although he is quite messy, he is a really lovable and overall wonderful little boy.

Maeve is really into bugs right now.  She gathers them on the playground at school and loves watching any TV show or reading any book about bugs.  She is watching the Toy Story Movies ad nauseum and wants to be Jessie (the cowgirl) for Halloween.  She told me she would wear a wig with red braids, but we'll see... She is really excited for her birthday and has consistently asked for the same things as gifts.  It's hilarious.  We are having a small party for her at the zoo with her closest friends.

Finn is walking all over and climbing up pretty much anything.  He has no fear and tries to walk, roll, climb, and crawl over anything to get to where he wants to be.  He is starting to get the most delicious little curls of blonde hair, and it's so adorable.  He has been battling colds and ear infections off and on for the past few months. We are hoping that placing ear tubes will help him and get him through the winter season without too much trouble.  He is just a sensitive little guy, and seems to be very illness prone. He is saying quite a few words now, mama, daddy, doggie, cat, Ma (Maeve), book, 'what's that?', baba, and others.   He also moves his hands around to 'itsy bitsy spider' and 'wheels on the bus'.  He is very boyish and loves toy cars, balls and like his sister, goes crazy when Yo Gabba Gabba comes on TV.

Here are some recent pictures:

This is one of the better ones that I have of the two of them.  Hence, we have hired a professional photographer in order to get a picture for our Christmas card.  Unless you think this one is ok?

Sibling love.  He was laughing hysterically while she was trying to shove his face into the bed.
